The Ark was at Kiriath-jearim for 70 years. It was first time for David to try to transport the Ark from this location to Jerusalem. It is written in w03 5/1 10-11 that he (David) neglected to search adequately to ascertain Jehovah' will on the matter.
This is a good lesson to me that I should carefully search for Jehovah's will and direction when I newly start something.
Furthermore, I could also recall the unnamed prophet in 1 Kings chapter 13. Although he started a course that was allowing Jehovah to direct his steps, he didn't continue to follow the direction that Jehovah had given him.
"It is far better to take a few moments for quiet reflection, fully considering God's requirements before rushing into an action that might bring God's reproof."

I learned to take time to make sure what Jehovah wants me to do when something different happens. I always keep this in my mind.
